My Purpose

I created Upward Path Therapy Center to make therapy more accessible outside of the traditional office setting. I noticed that many people face barriers such as limited leave hours, childcare, transportation, or health issues that make it hard to attend in-person sessions. My goal with Upward Path is to provide an equally effective therapy experience without the need to visit an office, making your path to wellness more accessible than ever.

My Approach

As your therapist at Upward Path, I’m committed to providing compassionate, ethically-based online therapy tailored to your needs. I believe that everyone has unique strengths, experiences, and abilities, and together, we’ll focus on these qualities to help you build a stronger, more empowered version of yourself. I specialize in working with adults who want to incorporate therapy into their lives in a convenient, safe online space. As we begin this journey, I’ll help you recognize your inner strength and develop a personalized plan to face challenges and achieve your goals.

My Background

As a North Carolina native with experience living in multiple states across the U.S. and Europe, I bring a diverse perspective to my therapy practice. My journey in this field began over a decade ago as I worked toward clinical licensure in various healthcare settings. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from North Carolina A&T State University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina-Columbia. I also provide clinical supervision to post graduate social workers seeking to complete their required supervision hours in the state of Virginia.

My Experience

My experience spans a wide range of settings and roles, including inpatient and outpatient medical facilities as a medical and nephrology social worker, community assistance organizations, and both corporate and federal government. I've had the opportunity to assess and work with diverse clinical disorders across various stages of life. However, my true passion lies in helping adults navigate depression, stress management, and life transitions. Recently, I’ve led workshops for military families, teaching self-care and mind-body techniques, received training in Symptom Targeted Intervention, and completed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy training through the Beck Institute.
